As a Vancouver Photographer, I love travelling all over BC to take part in West Coast Elopement Photoshoots. In the summer of 2021, I was lucky enough to photograph this beautiful coastal island elopement in British Columbia. We gathered at Horseshoe Bay and hopped on a water taxi that took us over to Keats Island where this beautiful west coast elopement photoshoot took place. Covid put a damper on their big wedding plans, so the Cambrey’s decided to keep it low key and have a small intimate wedding.
It was a crystal clear summer day and they said their vows in the early afternoon with family and close friends around followed by their West Coast Elopement Photoshoot with me. Keats Island is one of the smaller Wes Coast Island and the spot the Cambrey’s chose was a gorgeous, quiet and wild spot. There are a so many beautiful island along the coast of British Columbia with unending natural beauty where couples can wed, but Keats Island (the Indigenous name is Lhek’tines) is a rare gem.
We watched the seals swim around and boats cruise along the shores of surrounding islands. Later, we went back to a cabin and celebrated as the sun went down. To end the photoshoot we popped a bottle of champagne to cheers to their marriage and their family. It was a perfect day to say the least. Nothing is dreamier then a West Coast Elopement on an Island in British Columbia…
