On July 5th, I captured this sweet couple’s Vancouver engagement photoshoot on the coast of Vancouver. Avasta and I were in contact a few months before the day, planning the perfect set up. We wanted to figure out how to trick Erin so she didn’t know what was coming. I think we did a pretty good job. After many phone calls, we decided somewhere on the coast would be the perfect location to celebrate their Vancouver engagement and photoshoot. After a few date adjustments due to weather, we had a plan.

The Engagement Photoshoot Plan

I recommended Porteau Cove for the engagement photoshoot as it was a short drive from Vancouver and has amazing scenery. Avasta told Erin that they had a work dinner in Squamish that night so they had to drive up there for the evening. On the way, Avasta said that he had a friend that was at Porteau cove, so they stopped to say “hi”. I told him before they arrived where to walk, and I was waiting for the moment. Erin had no idea that a beautiful ring was in his pocket and when she was looking out at the sea, he got down on one knee for her to turn around for a surprise she will never forget. Tears were shed and there were huge smiles on there faces. We then spent the following hour documenting their engagement as the sun dipped down behind the mountains. It was such a special evening and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it. It is so important to have these times documented and that’s why I am here. Proposing is a big deal and I’m sure there are lots of nerves.
