Goodbye 2022 and hello 2023. I always love the feeling of a fresh start and new year. Do you have any traditions or resolutions? I’m not a fan of the whole “new years resolution” thing. I like to set goals and try my best to achieve them the best I can without putting the pressure on a resolution. Preping my business for the New Year is always something I like to do as we get to the end of December.

Now, do you have a list of things you wanted to complete before the year finished? or do you have a new list to prep your business for the year ahead? I am here to tell you a few things that I like to do to prep for the new year. I want to help you take your business to the next level with a few simple tasks in 2023. But these few things helped my business feel more established and ready for the new year, and I am so grateful I have done them.

01. Update your website. Your website speaks volumes of your business and if you want people to take you seriously, having a clean website that shows and explains exactly what you do or sell is what you need. This comes along with branding for your business. Logos, a colour pallet, hiring a photographer… these may seem like small things that you can maybe do on your own, but believe me when I say, you will be so glad you hired a professional. I always am. Maybe you have these things done already, so maybe just give your site a revamp. New updated photos, copy or products.

02. Start outsourcing. Have a few tasks that you really dislike doing? That means it’s time to outsource and find some help. Social media managers, Website editor, blog writers, photographers… It also gives you more time to work on what you are truly passionate about. And when you take this step, it brings your business even more business. Someone I recently hired is Hannah. 03. Clean up! Clean up your house, clean up your desk, clean up your computer desktop, your camera roll, your fridge… I may be getting slightly off topic.. but I know that a new year always calls for better eating habits, so I will definitely be cleaning out my fridge, haha. But back to the real clean up topic… A messy desk is a messy business. Just putting your things back where they belong can really clear your mind and head space and get you ready for the new year. I just went though my Lightroom and cleared all my shoots from 2022 and I feel so excited to fill it up again in 2023!

04. Hire the photographer… I am here to tell you to finally do the thing. Hire the photographer you have been wanting to hire for so long. Even I work with other photographers to keep my business fresh. When I started sharing photos of myself, my business started booming. Stop taking photos with your phone and thinking “ill eventually hire someone”. Do it now and finally get the vision you have been dreaming of.
