This month as a brand photographer I’ve been working on a few projects with Skwalwen Botanicals. The brief was to take studio brand product shots, outdoor product shots with products in use, and lifestyle portraits. Leigh, the brand owner, wanted a full revamp for her brand and products. It has been so fun helping Leigh bring her vision to life and as a brand photographer who has a passion for creating a feeling with photos, I can’t wait to see what she creates with the photos. During this time of social distancing it was so nice to have a few projects to work on and this one especially was exciting for me. 

Skwalwen is an Indigenous small business brand. Leigh hand picks plants and creates small batch products. They are 100% organic! Leigh is a ethnobotanist and uses her skills to create truly amazing products. I have used quite a few of them now and I can honestly say that these products make my skin feel so healthy and soft, they are so delicate and I can’t wait to try more. In this shoot I wanted to make sure that the organic items were the focal point, ensuring they are seen as natural and luxurious.
